IV Therapy
What is it?
IV (intravenous) therapy is a medical treatment in which vitamins and fluids are administered directly into a vein through a thin, flexible tube called an IV catheter. IV therapy allows for deliver vitamins and fluids directly to the bloodstream, which allows them to take effect more quickly than if they were taken by mouth.
Why we love it?
Improved absorption: IV vitamins bypass the digestive system and are directly absorbed into the bloodstream, which allows for more efficient absorption and utilization of the vitamins.
Higher concentrations: IV vitamins can be administered at higher concentrations than what can be taken by mouth, which can be beneficial for individuals with certain nutrient deficiencies or health conditions.
Quicker delivery: IV vitamins are delivered directly to the bloodstream, which allows for quicker delivery to the body's cells and tissues.
What to expect at your visit?
Consultation: Before beginning treatment, you will have a consultation with a medical team member to discuss the reason for seeking IV treatment. You will be asked to sign a consent form.
Preparation: Before the IV is inserted, the medical team member will clean the area on your arm or hand. The health team member will then insert the IV into a vein in your arm or hand. The needle portion will be removed and the IV catheter will remain in place. The IV catheter is a thin, flexible tube that is inserted into the vein through a pediatric size needle. The medical team member will administer the vitamins through the IV catheter. The treatment may take a few minutes to a few hours, depending on the specific treatment being administered.
After the treatment: After the treatment is complete, the medical team member will remove the IV and cover the area with a bandage. You may experience some discomfort or bruising at the site of the IV insertion, but this should resolve within a few hours to days. Some find they feel energized and rejuvenated after their session, while others may feel more relaxed.
